European Canoe Association DB Championships Cancelled

13 July 2007 - According to a bulletin recently posted on the European Canoe Association site, the ECA has had to cancel their upcoming "dragon boat championships" scheduled for 18 & 19 August 2007 in Brandenburg due to lack of interest.

The EDBF would like to invite crews who planned on taking part in this championship to send dragon boat crews to the 12th European Club Crew Championships in St Petersburg from 3-5 August. Please note, however, that entries from canoe federation crews in countries where there is an EDBF member will only be accepted if sanctioned by the EDBF member concerned.

The European Dragon Boat Federation is a Member of the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) and recognised by the IDBF as the specific Governing Body for Dragon Boating in Europe.
The IDBF is the world governing authority for Dragon Boat Sport and the Member International Federation of SportAccord (the General Association of International Sports Associations) specifically for Dragon Boating. SportAccord is an International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognised sports association.
The IDBF is also an International Federation recognised by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and is a Founder Member of the Association of International Paddle Sports Federation (AIPSF).
