EDBF Commissions are seeking new members and chairholders

04 December 2017 -
The EDBF Commissions are seeking new members and chairholders for Marketing & Media, Youth Development and Women Athletes. See the reports in the EDBF Library, section EDBF Commission Documents and contact the commission chairholders directly (find contact information here) if you are interested in serving on one of the commissions. A new subsection has been added to Sports Medicine and Psychology which will focus on developing the sport for disabled paddlers as there is growing interest in paddling among these athletes.

At the EDBF Convention in Belgrade we decided to run a competition to design a new logo for the EDBF. All logos are to be submitted to secretary@edbf.org by 31/12/17. •The EDBF logo is a brand identity and should instantly identify our organisation from any other. •The logo should summarize the idea of what the organisation is and what it does. •It should represent the core values of the EDBF – European/Leaders of Sport/Inclusive of all ages, abilities and sexes/Colourful/Healthy/Fun. •A logo as an image or symbol, must be able to reach the client and help ensure their loyalty. •Although a traditional sport we want the logo to show that the world of dragon boating is changing, along with the world of sport itself. This is a key message from GAISF (Global Association of International Sport Federation). GAISF’s logo contains a new colour to reflect our world today. The stylish purple was chosen to symbolise continuing evolution in global sport and GAISF’s central role in it. •Colour is one of the most important elements in communication for any brand identity. Therefore we would also like to use the colours of yellow and blue as featured on the European flag and which have been used in our EDBF logo since 1990. •The logo should also focus on a few characteristics of our sport e.g. Dragons head, dragon boat, paddle. •The logo needs to be simple in design so that it can easily be printed and embroidered.
