17th EDBF European Club Crew Championships - Mixed Crews Rules Clarification

23 May 2017 -
We are being asked to clarify the Mixed Crews rules a lot at present, so here follow the rules. IDBF Competition Regulations 2016 (Edition 7, Issue 1 effective from 1st January 2016), which will be used in the forthcoming ECCC in France, state the following:

CR 2.1.3 Mixed Class - crews must contain a minimum of eight (8) and a maximum of ten (10) of each gender. There are no restrictions on age, except for the 12 years old rule shown in Reg 2.1.1. For Small Boat Races this shall be 4 to 6 of either gender. (Aug16)

What this means is that for a mixed team in the standard boat competition you must have 10 women and 10 men, if you run with a full crew of 20 paddlers. If you run with 18 paddlers you can use either 8 women and 10 men, 10 women and 8 men or 9 women and 9 men.

Attention, Dragon Boat ladies in Europe! Today we present our women's team Senior B / Senior C. These ladies started in Kunming at the World Championships in the Senior-A-Class and presented themselves there excellently. They have won the silver medal three times and have shown that even at a mature age, you can still achieve great achievements. This requires a good team with a special atmosphere. This is what our ladies have and the DDV is very proud of it. They are highly motivated and challenge all other European nations to the ENC in 2018. So what about your women's teams, whether Senior A, B or C. Who's coming to Brandenburg in August 2018?
