23 May 2013 - Attached you will find Bulletin Nr. 2 for the EDBF European Club Crew Championships in Hamburg, Germany. There is still some room in the program for late entries, so if you have a club crew that has registered interest after the preliminary deadline date, it may be that they can still enter providing there is enough room in their category.

Further, you will find more information, the numerative registration form and detailed hotel information on the championship website at www.eccc2013.com.

13 May 2013 - From our dragonboat friends in Spain we received a message that they are organizing their first Dragon Boat Festival in Spain.

Dear DB Friends,

I would like to inform you, that on first June , we´ll hold a Dragonboat Festival in Murcia, our first Dragonboat Festival.
We´re working hard to develop the Dragonboating here in Spain, and prepare a nice festival, we´ve almost everything clear, now, we need foreign crews, so I would like to invite all your crews to our regatta, if anyone is interested, please, let us know. 24 January 2013 - Dear Colleagues,
Please find attached the Invitation to IDBF Members and Information Bulletin No1. for the 11th WDBRC to be held in Szeged, Hungary during the period 23-28 July 2013.

Note that the closing date for Provisional Entries is 14 February 13 and I would appreciate receiving them before that date, in order that we can get Information Bulletin No.2 out to the competing Teams in good time.

Also note that the IDBF and the Szeged 2013 Org Com will only deal with one Team Manger per Team and not with individual Crew Managers within your representative Teams.

Please ensure therefore, that the person who completes and sends in your Team entry, is the person who will be your Team Manger at the WDBRC in Szeged.

Some improvements and additions still have to be made, and content added, but now you can find the most essential information all in one place again.

Lucia from the Florence Dragon Ladies would like to invite all BCS paddlers to attend the third edition of the Florence Dragon Boat Pink meeting and competition to be held in Florence 25 & 26 May. All teams will have the chance to take part not only in the event in Florence, but also in the Venetian Vogalonga on May 18-19. This will be a great opportunity to share international sport moments and to make a gorgeous journey along Italy visiting two of the most beautiful and charming Italian cities.

As a tribute to Manfred Russ´ many significant contributions to the development of the modern sport of dragon boat racing, he was honored during this weekend´s EDBF Special Congress held in Hamburg, Germany. Mike Haslam, Executive President of the IDBF, presented Russ with a lifetime Honorary Vice President certificate.

12 September 2012 - The EDBF Board is preparing a Special Congress meeting for 10 and 11 November to discuss ways to further stimulate dragon boat racing in Europe. This will also allow country reps to get a feel for the host city, Hamburg, and the facilities on offer. Plus watch for a special workshop on Sunday. More details will be sent to country representatives as the Board finalizes the program. If you are a paddler and not a country representative, please contact your national dragon boat federation to make sure your ideas and input is heard.

The European Dragon Boat Federation is a Member of the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) and recognised by the IDBF as the specific Governing Body for Dragon Boating in Europe.
The IDBF is the world governing authority for Dragon Boat Sport and the Member International Federation of SportAccord (the General Association of International Sports Associations) specifically for Dragon Boating. SportAccord is an International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognised sports association.
The IDBF is also an International Federation recognised by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and is a Founder Member of the Association of International Paddle Sports Federation (AIPSF).
